Manchester City could sign Messi

According to a recent report from the Mirror, Premier League giants Manchester City believe themselves to be in pole position to try and sign Lionel Messi if the Barcelona star leaves the Nou Camp in the wake of their humiliating Champions League exit earlier this week.

While Messi may have been through a lot during his tenure with the Spanish club, it’s safe to say that things are looking bleaker than they have done in an awfully long time for Barca. Messi may not be in the prime of his career anymore but he’s still viewed by many as the best player in world football, and perhaps even the greatest player of all time.

City have been linked with an ambitious move for the Argentine in the past, but now, it appears as if it could actually become a reality.

Could he be the key to breaking their bad run of form in the Champions League under Guardiola? Only time will tell.
