Manchester City eye Everton left-back Lucas Digne

Manchester City are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Premier League rivals Everton in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. It has been reported that City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign a new left-back due to stunted progress of Benjamin Mendy.

Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico is a potential transfer target for City, but manager Guardiola is also a fan of Digne, who has established himself as one of the best left-backs in England since his move to Everton from Barcelona. The 27-year-old France international is in his prime now and would make City better.

According to WhoScored, Digne has provided four assists in eight Premier League matches for Everton so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the France international left-back provided seven assists in 35 league games, while in 2018-19, he scored four goals and gave four assists in 35 the league, according to WhoScored.
