Manchester City are interested in signing Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo in the summer of 2021, according to The Daily Mail. It has been reported that the former Premier League champions are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old Italy international midfielder and are considering making a move for him at the end of the season.
The youngster’s current contract at Italian club Sassuolo runs until 2023 and will cost at least £30 million in the summer of 2021, according to the report, which has added that Italian and European giants Juventus are also interested in the midfielder and wanted to sign him in the summer of 2020.
According to WhoScored, Locatelli has scored two goals and provided one assist in 16 Serie A games for Sassuolo so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the 23-year-old midfielder made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in the league, providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
