Manchester City are in a bit of a problem right now. And quite easily, that problem could get a lot worse in the coming months. Champions of England have not signed a new centre-back after Vincent Kompany’s departure and now, with Aymeric Laporte’s long-term injury, Pep Guardiola’s side is very low on numbers in that position.
That is why Manchester City want to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. According to Calciomercato, they are thinking about signing him this January, as a reinforcement before the crucial part of the season. In 2020, Man City will be expected to play in latter stages of the Champions League and also fight for third consecutive Premier League title.
For that, they will need good options at centre-back, but without Laportee in that back-line, Guardiola will have plenty of headaches. Calciomercato are also suggesting Man City already tried to sign Skriniar this summer, but Inter apparently managed to fend them off. However, in January they might have another battle.
