Manchester City hopeful over Alaba

According to a recent report from Sky Germany, Manchester City are still interested in trying to sign Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

The biggest concern at the club is that Alaba would prefer to make a move over to Spanish football, but either way, it doesn’t appear as if he’s going to extend his current deal with Bayern.

His contract is currently set to expire in 2021, and he’s been stalling on signing a new deal as of late.

With a Premier League investigation currently ongoing, however, City may not want to draw too much attention to themselves.

The Austrian has been tipped to make a move away from Bayern for a long time now, whereas City are clearly going to be interested in strengthening their side in the summer after losing the Premier League title to Liverpool this season.

Now, we have to wait and see whether or not they can complete the deal – or even come close.
