According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Manchester City are interested in trying to sign Southampton forward Danny Ings this summer.
The belief is that Ings would serve as a potential replacement for veteran Sergio Aguero who, it seems, looks set to leave the Etihad after this season comes to an end.
The Argentine’s contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign and it doesn’t appear as if either party is in any real rush to get a new deal signed, sealed and delivered.
However, while Ings may be at the top of their domestic list, Erling Haaland is still the name on everyone’s lips.
The big problem with the Norwegian is that there’s a great deal of interest in his signature and because of that, City may instead focus their attention on bringing Ings up to Manchester.
Either way, a new forward seems like a must for the champions-elect.
