French media outlet L’Equipe claims Premier League leaders Manchester City are keen on Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti.
The 24-year-old French international has emerged as a first-choice solution at the heart of defence at Camp Nou, making 19 competitive outings throughout the competitions this term.
Manchester City appear to have taken a notice of his rising stock and are believed to be prepared to snatch him away from Barcelona during the January transfer window.
Umtiti is currently under a €60 million release clause with the Catalan giants. Ernesto Valverde is holding the Frenchman is high regard and the Catalans are eager to extend his deal in order to keep the suitors at bay.
