Manchester City are interested in signing Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United in the summer transfer window, according to HITC. The report has claimed that City wanted to sign the Brazil international playmaker in the summer of 2023 and will make a bid for him at the end of the season.
City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, did not end up signing Paqueta last summer because the FA revealed they were investigating suspicious betting patterns of yellow cards. Paqueta has always maintained his innocence, and his camp is confident that the truth will come out before the end of the season.
Paqueta is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League. The 26-year-old, who can also play as a winger, has been on the books of West Ham since 2022 when he joined from Lyon. Paqueta has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 46 appearances in the Premier League.
