Manchester City have made an inquiry into the availability of Lyon defender Aly Cissokho, according to Daily Mirror.
Boss Roberto Mancini is looking to reinforce the left-back position after Aleksandar Kolarov failed to live up to the expectations at Eastlands and he is reportedly keen on the Lyon star.
Transfer guru Gary Cook has traveled to France in an attempt to close the deal, but was told that City would have to pay 20 million pounds for the France international.
Les Gones paid 15 million euros for the highly rated defender a year ago and they have now warned City that he won’t come cheap.
Cissokho is widely consider as one of the best left-backs in Europe, and he could be tempted by the opportunity to join Manchester City following a disappointing season at Gerland.
