Manchester City are keeping tabs on Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna, Tuttosport understands.
City boss Roberto Mancini is not satisfied with his side’s defensive performances of late and he plans to reinforce the back line in the summer.
According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Mancini is weighing up a move for Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The 23-year-old is considered one of the best centre-backs in Italy, whereas he can also play at full-back if needed.
Despite plying his trade in Serie B, Ogbonna has already earned a full Italy cap and he will be considered for a place in the Euro 2012 squad.
The player, who is tracked by Napoli, Valencia and Benfica, among other clubs, have just signed a new long-term deal, but Torino are likely to consider any offers they receive for their prized asset.
Tuttosport claims that Torino values Ogbonna at €15 million, which is well within Manchester City’s price range.
