Manchester City linked with Blackburn defender

It seems that Mark Hughes wants just about every player in the world to join him at Manchester City this summer. Fortunately for the club, the owner has put a ceiling on the amount of money that he can spend. Now, Hughes has had to reduce his summer shopping list to realistic targets.

Yesterday his team was linked with Stankovic, Zabaleta and Arshavin, today it is Blackburn defender Chris Samba that he is linked with. Mark Hughes would have to ask the Shinawarta for a signed £4 million cheque to get the Congolese player, according to Manchester Evening News.

Samba has been a huge hit with Blackburn since joining them in January of last year. The Times recently described the deal which Mark Hughes pulled then as one of the “shrewdest” transfers. It is understandable then why the former Wales manager would want to be reunited with Samba.

It seems that Blackburn are preparing to fall apart following the departure of Hughes. Santa Cruz has enlightened the media about the interest shown in him barely a week ago and now Samba could be on the verge of reuniting with the manager who brought him to England.
