Manchester City are interested in signing Takefusa Kubo from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2024, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, are closely following Kubo, who has a release clause of €60 million in his current contract.
City, though, are not going to find it easy to get a deal done for Kubo, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder. That is because Real Madrid are also interested in bringing back the 22-year-old. The Japan international was on the books of Los Blancos from 2019 until 2022 before leaving for Sociedad.
Kubo has made 16 starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga for Sociedad this season. He has scored six goals and provided three assists in those games. The young Japan international has also given one assist in five starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for La Real this season.
