Manchester City have opened talks to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, according to Daily Star.
City boss Roberto Mancini has repeatedly admitted his interest in the Uruguayan striker and it looks as though he is now ready to step up his interest.
Cavani scored a brace against Manchester City in midweek, which certainly helped him impress his suitors.
According to Daily Star, Manchester City officials have already opened talks with the player’s representative.
City’s chief Italian scout Barry Hunter reportedly met Cavani’s agent Claudio Anelucci in Rome to discuss a possible deal.
The pair spent several hours at a dinner discussing the possibility of Cavani joining Manchester City in January.
