Pep Guardiola has failed to solve the burning goalkeeping issue at Manchester City and is prepared to make fresh moves in the forthcoming transfer market.
According to the reports coming from the Portuguese daily Abola, the Catalan tactician has set his sights on Benfica shot stopper Ederson, who has emerged as one of the most talented goalkeeping talents in Europe this season.
The 23-year-old Ederson has landed on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter and Barcelona, but Manchester City appear to be leading the chase with reports of the gentleman’s agreement between the ‘keeper and the Citizens boss already in place.
The latest reports suggest that Manchester City are prepared to make a firm move for the Benfica goalkeeper with a reported offer worth €40 million which would be enough to make the Brazilian shot stopper the most expensive goalkeeper ever, eclipsing the value of Gigi Buffon’s €50 million transfer from Parma to Juventus in 2001.
