Manchester City ready to double Rodri’s salary

Manchester City are determined to keep hold of Rodri amid interest from Real Madrid, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has claimed that City, who won the Premier League title last season, are willing to double Rodri’s wages to £375,000 a week.

Rodri has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world and is a key figure in the City team under manager Pep Guardiola. The 28-year-old Spain international, who won the European Championship this summer, scored eight goals and gave nine assists in 34 Premier League games last season. He has scored 22 goals and given 21 assists in 172 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

City are aiming to win the Premier League title this season. Manager Guardiola is out of contract at the Citizens at the end of the campaign. It will be interesting to see if the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss puts pen to paper on a new deal.
