Manchester City rejected Barca’s Garcia bid

According to a recent report from Sport, Manchester City rejected a bid from Barcelona for Eric Garcia on transfer deadline day.

It’s no secret that the Spanish giants have long since been fans of Garcia but haven’t been able to get the signing over the finish line. On deadline day, however, they made a real push to get it done with a bid of €16.5 million plus add-ons.

It came down to the defender himself informing City that he does want to leave, but he will only seek the transfer at the end of his contract.

The teenage sensation has the potential to do big things for both City and Barcelona but it’s clear to see he’d prefer to return to his hometown. The good news for Pep Guardiola and the fans is that he’s going to be staying at the Etihad for the time being, and the club needs to take advantage of that.
