Manchester City stand firm on their valuation of Leroy Sane, according to Sky Sports.
The 24-year-old winger saw his game-time significantly reduced last season, and he is yet to make a competitive appearance for the defending Premier League champions this term after he was taken off with a serious knee problem in the Community Shield clash against Liverpool last summer. He has been linked with Bayern Munich for a very long time, and the Bundesliga title holders haven’t exactly kept their interest a secret.
But if the Bavarians had hoped they would be able to sign Sane for a reduced fee due to his injury or the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the transfer market, they will have been dismayed by the report that City have no intention of parting ways with the talented Germany international for anything less than their own valuation of the player, which apparently now stands at €70 million. The two clubs held talks which ended last week with Bayern’s latest offer standing at no more than €40m.
It seems there’s still a lot to negotiate before a common ground is found.
