Manchester City versatile defender Jerome Boateng admits that he is eager to join Bayern Munich.
The Bavarians have been hot on the trail of the former Hamburg defender, who has now added fuel to speculations linking him with a move to Alianz Arena.
“I want to join Bayern. They are number one in Germany and amongst the top six clubs in Europe,” Boateng told Kicker.
“I want clarity quickly. My twins will learn Bavarian.”
While the player’s desire to join Bayern is more than clear, the two clubs have yet to agree on the transfer fee.
Manchester City are holding out for €20 million, whereas Bayern are ready to offer just €12.5 million, which is exactly how much City paid Hamburg for the Germany international.
The two clubs are far from reaching the agreement for the time being, but the negotiations look set to continue.
