Julian Alvarez of Manchester City is a name on the list of potential transfer targets for Bayern Munich ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to SportBild journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Apparently, the future of the 23-year-old Argentina international is uncertain anyway. He is aware that he’ll hardly be able to displace the sensational Erling Haaland from the starting XI any time soon, and he is believed to be open to exploring other options, despite signing a new five-year contract with City only two months ago.
Bayern would certainly be able to give him an attractive option to consider as they seek for the right man to continue where Robert Lewandowski left off last summer. It is a widely held view that a lack of a designated No. 9 has caused the Bavarians this season, as one of the main reasons why their domination in the Bundesliga has been shaken.
With one round left to be played, Bayern trail Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table by two points.
News J. #Alvarez: Yes, he’s on the list of #FCBayern confirmed! He’s another option next to Kolo Muani. Bayern has inquired about him as he’s not a regular starter behind #Haaland. His future at #MCFC is uncertain despite of his contract until 2028. First call about the interest… pic.twitter.com/AnZvL993nG
