According to a recent report from Record, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has asked his scouts to monitor the progress of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis. The youngster has been a source of great intrigue for Pep and many other clubs around Europe over the last few months, and understandably so. At the age of just 20 he is already showing signs of a player that could, and probably will, go on to do some pretty special things in the world of football.
City already have a stacked squad and that much is obvious to suggest, but a player like Luis could really add some fascinating depth into the mix – and, it could be yet another sign that Guardiola is focusing on the future as opposed to players that may be ready for the big time right now.
This is all, of course, potentially premature, given that they’re only thinking about scouting him.
