Manchester City are interested in signing Lionel Messi in the summer of 2021, according to Eurosport. Messi is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, and the likelihood is that the Argentina international forward will leave the Spanish and European giants.
Messi worked with City manager Pep Guardiola when the latter was in charge of Barcelona. The Argentine is now 33 years of age, but he still remains one of the best players in the world and is one of the greatest of all time. The Barcelona legend would make City a much better team and would be a blockbuster signing for the former Premier League champions.
According to WhoScored, Messi has made 17 starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona so far this season, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in the process. The Argentine has also scored three goals and provided two assists in four Champions League games for the Blaugrana this campaign, according to WhoScored.
