Manchester City want €80 million for Raheem Sterling amid interest from Barcelona and Arsenal, according to Marca. Sterling recently said that he is open to leaving City for regular playing time, and the defending Premier League champions themselves are willing to offload the 26-year-old.
However, City are not simply going to let Sterling leave on the cheap and want €80 million as transfer fee, Marca claims. The report in the Spanish publication has said that Spanish and European giants Barcelona are keen on the former Liverpool star, but €80 million plus the player’s wages would be too expensive an outlay for them.
The Daily Star reported this month that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to bring Sterling to the Emirates Stadium. Arteta worked with the 26-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, when he was a coach at City.
