According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester City are interested in putting forward a potential bid for Mason Holgate.
The young defender has been able to thrive ever since Carlo Ancelotti came into the club, with the belief being that City could lure him to the Etihad for a bid of around £30 million – depending on how much further he can improve between now and the end of the season.
While the headlines have all been about City’s impending ban from European football for two seasons, the belief within the club is that Pep Guardiola wants to bring in at least two new defensive options during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Either way, whether that comes to fruition or not, it’s pretty clear to see that Holgate is making a strong impression at Goodison Park. Whether or not Guardiola is willing to take the plunge, though, is a different matter altogether.
