Manchester City want Torres

According to a recent report from Marca, Manchester City are in a good position to lock down the signing of Villarreal defender Pau Torres.

The 24-year-old rejected a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer with Pep Guardiola reportedly tracking Torres for quite some time.

Villarreal are coming off the back of a decent display against Manchester United in the Champions League and in that game, Torres once again proved why he’s such a force to be reckoned with. Alas, if he wants to take the next step up in his career then switching track to the Premier League could be exactly the right way to do it.

The Spanish side aren’t accomplishing a whole lot in La Liga at this moment in time and it wouldn’t be all too surprising to see City make a move as early as the January transfer window if Guardiola believes it’ll help their title ambitions.
