According to a recent report from Cadena SER, Manchester City are prepared to try and make a move for Valencia star Ferran Torres during the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old has been making a case for a major move away from the club for quite some time now, with City keeping an eye on his progress over the course of the last few months.
Given his age, the lingering issue of Manchester City’s two-year European ban may not be that much of an issue. He probably wouldn’t be thrust into the starting XI anyway, but it’s clear to see that manager Pep Guardiola is starting to invest in youth at the club.
There’s an opportunity for a new crop of youngsters to burst through and make an impact next season, especially if they don’t have the distraction of Europe to worry about.
Whether or not Torres fits the bill, though, remains to be seen.
