Manchester City’s Mahrez saga continues

According to The Mirror, Premier League champions Manchester City are closing in on signing Riyad Mahrez following weeks of uncertainty regarding the validity of the deal. City have been interested in bringing the Algerian to the Etihad for well over a year now, and while the 27-year-old’s behaviour throughout this ordeal hasn’t exactly been exemplary, he’s still done a solid job in maintaining his consistency throughout what will probably prove to be his final season with Leicester City.

Mahrez’s rise to prominence really peaked a few years back when he helped the Foxes towards an unlikely Premier League triumph, but since then, he hasn’t been shy in revealing that he wants to move higher up the ladder of European football. City, on the other hand, will be aiming to build their squad depth as they prepare to defend their title in what could prove to be the most competitive PL campaign in years.
