Manchester clubs set to battle for Maguire

Manchester City are ready to join Manchester United in the race to sign Harry Maguire, according to the Metro.

The Red Devils have previously enquired about the Leicester City centre back, though champions City are set to throw their hat in the ring as they look for a replacement for Vincent Kompany.

The Foxes are likely to demand a record-fee for Maguire, who has established himself as one of the finest centre backs in the country.

Since moving to the King Power Stadium in the summer of 2017, the twenty-six-year-old has racked up seventy-six appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

He has been capped nineteen times for England, with his one and only international goal so far coming in the 2-0 win over Sweden in the quarter-finals of last summer’s World Cup finals in Russia.

England lost their Nations League semi-final against the Netherlands on Thursday evening, and are priced at 1/1 to beat Switzerland in the third-place play-off on Sunday.
