Manchester United and Manchester City are not only fighting for the Premier League title, but they are also battling for Benfica forward Nicolas Gaitan.
According to The Mirror, both Manchester rivals are interested in the Argentine forward and they will have the player watched in the Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea.
The 24-year-old made an instant impact at Benfica following his move from Boca Juniors and he is now touted as one of the hottest prospects in world football.
The Argentine largely impressed Sir Alex Ferguson when Benfica faced United in the Champions League group stage and the Scottish manager is now ready to enter the race for the player’s signature.
He could face a stiff competition from Manchester City, however, seeing that Roberto Mancini also rates the player highly.
Gaitan has a £40 million release clause in his contract, but The Mirro believes he can be acquired for a fee of £25 million.
