Spanish media outlet Superdeporte is reporting that Manchester United and Manchester City are locked in the battle for Valencia star Nicolas Otamendi.
The 27-year-old has largely impressed playing for club and country over the last year or so and he is widely tipped to leave for greener pastures this summer.
According to Superdeporte, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes met with representatives of both Manchester United and Manchester City in Porto on Saturday, with the two clubs informing him they would soon make official proposals for his client.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Chelsea are keen on the Argentina international as well.
With Otamendi having been in excellent form since joining Valencia from FC Porto last summer, los Che are referring all interested sides to the centre-back’s €50 million release clause.
The Mestalla outfit have big ambitions for the upcoming season and they can be backed at 8/11 to achieve a top 4 finish in La Liga.
