Manchester rivals vying for Jean Michael Seri

The Guardian is reporting that Manchester United and Manchester City are locked in the battle for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

The Ivorian is widely expected to join a top European club in the near future and he was on the verge of signing for Barcelona last summer.

And while Chelsea, Everton, Monaco and PSG are also keen on his services, the Manchester rivals have emerged as frontrunners for his signature.

Pep Guardiola sees Seri as a great long-term replacement for Yaya Toure, whereas Jose Mourinho is also eager to recruit a high-quality central midfielder as Marouane Fellaini could leave.

With Manchester United apparently winning the chase for Alexis Sanchez, it remains to be seen whether Man City will get revenge on their arch rivals.
