Manchester United lock horns with PSV Eindhoven tonight in the Champions League, and are favourites to get revenge on the Dutch Eredivisie after having lost in the reverse fixture. United have been enjoying a good run of form ahead of this evening’s outing, and will book their place in the next round if they can win by a two-goal margin.

The Red Devils are leading the way in the group with seven points from their first four games, while opponents PSV are second with six points. The visitors won 2-1 when the two sides first locked horns in the group, but this evening’s meeting could see a response from United given their recent form. PSV have lost both away games in the group, and could well suffer their third from as many games.

Two wins and a draw in the Champions League since their defeat to PSV, while having won three and drawn two in the Premier League, Louis van Gaal’s side are enjoying a great run of results. They are expected to welcome back Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial to the side, while former PSV forward Memphis Depay, who recently scored for United, could be leading the line.

Manchester United still have their critics, but they are letting their form do the talking. PSV won’t be slouches, however, with the away side looking on course to make the knockouts of the Champions League. In the Dutch Eredivisie this season, the holders have flying. Three wins from four in their native league will mean United can’t take them for granted, but PSV haven’t performed away from home in Europe, so Manchester United are in pole position to win.
