Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Fussball Transfers. Zakaria is out of contract at Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2022 and has already decided to leave the German club on a free transfer. However, the Bundesliga club would prefer to sell the 25-year-old defensive midfielder in the January transfer window and are looking for €6-7m.
Premier League giants Manchester United have already made an offer for Zakaria, but Arsenal are also interested in the Switzerland international. Both the Red Devils and the Gunners are looking to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Zakaria has been on the books of Mönchengladbach since 2017 and is rated as one of the better defensive midfielders in the Bundesliga. The 25-year-old has made 14 starts and one substitute appearance in the league so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.
