Manchester United and Real Madrid are locked in the race to sign Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura, according to Daily Mail.
The 19-year-old is considered one of the most sought-after players in world football and he already has 11 Brazil caps to his name.
While Sao Paulo are eager to keep hold of their prized asset, increased pressure from Europe’s top sides could prove too much to handle.
Real Madrid are currently in talks with the player’s representatives as they plan to gain an early advantage over their rivals for Lucas’ signature, but Daily Mail claims Manchester United have also joined the party.
The English newspaper reveals that United have invited the player’s father to Old Trafford in an attempt to persuade Lucas that his future lies in Manchester.
The Red Devils are hoping a £12 million offer would prove enough to secure them the signing of one of the hottest prospects in world football.
