According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are said to be very confident that David De Gea will sign a new long-term contract with the club. This comes in the wake of Thibaut Courtois completing his move from Chelsea to Real Madrid, the same club that was linked with a move for De Gea over the course of the last few years.
The Spaniard’s departure from Old Trafford is something that’s been anticipated for quite some time, but now, it seems as if he’ll be staying with United for many years to come. De Gea has been with the Red Devils since he signed back in 2011 and in that time, he’s grown into one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
His current deal is set to expire in 2019, with another year being available if triggered by the club, but we can likely expect some news regarding a new deal in the not too distant future.
