Manchester United bid for Barca hotshot; Pastore confirms Barcelona contact

Manchester United bid for Barca hotshot

Manchester United have offered  £15million for Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, The Mirror reports.

The promising midfielder has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou as he could decide to leave the club in search for regular first team action.

The 20-year-old has proved his potential as well as impressed numerous scouts by helping Spain win 2011 Under-21 Euro in Denmark, scoring a marvelous goal in the final against Switzerland.

Sir Alex Ferguson have now offered  £15million for the holding midfielder, hoping that would see Barca decide to cash in on their prized asset.

United’s offer is bigger than any other that has arrived at Camp Nou, but Barca are reportedly not willing to sell Thiago to their Champions League rivals.

The player is becoming unsettled at Barca as he cannot be guaranteed first team football at Camp Nou, and he will almost certainly leave if the Catalans sign Cesc Fabregas.

Barcelona chiefs could decide to sell the young midfielder but they want a buy back clause inserted in the deal, which is something United are unlikely to agree.

Pastore confirms Barcelona contact

Palermo star Javier Pastore has confirmed that his agent is in contact with Barcelona and other interested clubs, amidst rumours that he is set to leave Renzo Barbera this summer.

The Argentine midfielder is wanted by a number of European giants including Barcelona, but his €50m price tag has proved to be a stumbling block to a move away from Renzo Barbera.

Nevertheless, Pastore, who is currently preparing for the start of Copa America, admits that his representative is in contact with interested clubs.

“I don’t know anything about my future,” Pastore told Fox Sports.

“My agent is in contact with Barcelona and other clubs, so he will certainly do what is best for me.”

Inter, Roma, Chelsea, Manchester City and Roma are also keen on the Argentine, but few clubs are able to match Palermo’s asking price at the moment.

Barcelona seem to have shelved their interest in Pastore as they are currently striking up a deal for Alexis Sanchez, but if that transfer falls through the Catalans should reignite their interest in the Argentine.

Despite the heavy interest from abroad, the player says he wouldn’t mind staying at Palermo for another season.

“We did not talk about money between the first and second season, which is fine with me because I am happy at Palermo and there was no need to discuss it at the time.

“We’ll see what happens in the future.”

Milan pondering bid for Santos star

After their attempts to sign Santos midfielder Paulu Henrique Ganso proved unsuccessful, Milan have turned their attention to his teammate Danilo.

The Rossoneri are still keen on the Santos playmaker, but with the transfer unluikely to be completed before January, the Italian club have turned their attention elsewhere.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have expressed their interest in Santos defender Danilo after club scouts spotted the youngster when they were watching Ganso.

Milan officials have reportedly been impressed by the 19-year-old full-back, who has already earned comparisons with Inter right-back Maicon.

The youngster scored one of the two goals in Santos’ Copa Libertadores final victory over Penarol, hinting that he was ready for a move to the biggest stage.

However, the Rossoneri will have to act fast if they want to sign the young Brazilian as Benfica have already been in contact with the player.

“I am enthusiastic at the idea of joining Benfica as my first European club, partly due to the language,” Danilo told Record.
