Manchester United are preparing an offer for Brazil forward Lucas Moura according to the Daily Mail.
With their first two summer signings announced this week – Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell – Sir Alex Ferguson is now eyeing his next target and it is thought to be Moura.
It is being reported that chief scout Jim Lawlor is in Brazil trying to sort a £25m deal with Sao Paulo for the extremely highly-rated midfielder.
Moura – who has also been linked with Chelsea and Inter Milan this summer – is set to take part in the Olympics this summer as part of a talented Brazil squad, but United would like to sort a deal before then.
After all, if Moura shows the world what he can do in London this summer, the interest in his signature is likely to include a few more high-profile clubs.
To make a deal happen, it is thought that Manchester United would be willing to offer Brazilian midfielder Anderson as part of the deal.
Overall, this is another transfer story that could develop over time. The next week or so – when Ferguson is bound to be asked about Moura – will certainly be interesting.
With The Independent reporting on Inter confirming their interest this morning, this could be a fascinating transfer saga.
