Daily Express is reporting that Manchester United are on the verge of signing Brazilian defender Joao Miranda from Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils have identified the experienced centre-back as a solution to their defensive problems and are ready to offer around £20 million for his services.
And even though the player’s release clause stands at £24 million, the latest reports suggest Atletico are ready to accept said proposal.
Namely, given that Miranda has a contract until June 2016 and is eager to leave los Colchoneros for greener pastures, the La Liga side have no choice but to grant his wish.
The 30-year-old has developed into one of La Liga’s top centre-backs shortly after arriving from Sao Paulo and he has managed 8 goals in 105 La Liga outings.
Atletico ended a three-match winning run as they were beaten at home by Villarreal, but Diego Simeone’s charges can be backed at 5/4 to defeat Athletic at San Mames.
