Manchester United closing in on permanent Falcao deal

The Daily Star understands that Manchester United are closing in on a permanent deal for Radamel Falcao, after Real Madrid withdrew their interest in signing the forward.

The Colombia international is currently on loan at Old Trafford, though he hasn’t played since last month’s 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion as he nurses a calf injury though he should be back in contention for next weekend’s trip to Arsenal.

His only goal for the Premier League club came in a 2-1 win over Everton, but he has an overall goal ratio of two in every three games across spells with River Plate, Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco.

Louis van Gaal’s side sit in seventh place in the Premier League following last weekend’s win over Crystal Palace, just two points behind fourth place West Ham United, and can be backed at a price of 4/6 to finish in the Champions League qualification places.
