After Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial departure, Manchester United are in need of an additional attacker in January. Manager Erik ten Hag has made that much clear himself. According to The Telegraph, they’re considering a move for Ajax star Mohamed Kudus.
If the 20-time English champions decide to move that move, they’ll surely face strong competition for Kudus. The likes of Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton have all been credited with interest in the services of the 22-year-old, and following a fine overall impression he made representing Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar, there will likely be more clubs on that list when the winter window opens.
Kudus is by default an attacking midfielder, but he’s proven to be quite capable of leading the front line as a striker as well. He has 12 goals and two assists in 24 matches across all competitions for Ajax this season. His path has previously led through Right to Dream of Ghana and Norwegian side Nordsjaelland.
Ajax have Kudus under contract until 2025, and they’ll likely demand a hefty fee to let him go next year.
