According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester United could be planning on selling David de Gea in favour of making Dean Henderson their new number one. The Spaniard was once considered to be the best goalkeeper in world football but as time as gone on, it seems as if he’s struggled to maintain that consistency at Old Trafford.
He signed a new deal in September after years of speculation as to whether or not he would make the jump over to Real Madrid, with many looking towards this as an opportunity for Henderson to really stake his claim as United’s true number one with de Gea probably heading off abroad.
Henderson has been on loan at Sheffield United this season, and in that time, he has been able to prove why he’s widely considered to be one of the most underrated keepers across European football.
If they did sell de Gea, the money would be used to strengthen the squad elsewhere.
