Manchester United enter Chiesa race

According to reports in Italy, Manchester United are the latest team to enter the race for Federico Chiesa. The Fiorentina midfielder has been in the headlines every other day for one reason or another, and most of the time it’s all to do with where he’ll be playing his football over the next few years. At this rate, it feels as if picking his new team out of a luck hat could be the easiest way to go.

The 21 year old has already clocked up two goals and one assist in Serie A but it feels like he’s capable of so much more than that, and Fiorentina will be well aware of the eyes that are on them. We wouldn’t be entirely surprised to learn that he’s asked to leave himself because all of this attention can be extremely appealing to a young player, to the point where they base their decision on what their head says as opposed to their heart.
