Manchester United have officially taken up the option to extend the contract of Andreas Pereira for another year. The Brazilian spent last season out on loan with Spanish club Valencia, but has been able to make more of an impact within United’s first team this season. A series of other Red Devils players have also signed contract extensions as of late, showcasing the club’s urgency to try and lock down stars that may not have received much playing time under Jose Mourinho.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a clear direction for this United squad, and this latest move seems to prove that he’s already planning for the future.
The midfielder made his debut for the Brazilian national team last year, after making the transition over from Belgium’s U17s squad back in 2013.
Pereira will likely continue to receive more and more opportunities with United, as he attempts to validate their decision to keep him for another year.
