Manchester United are interested in signing Lisandro Martinez from Ajax in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that Ajax are willing to sell the Argentina international centre-back, but they want ‘a big offer’.
Martinez worked with new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, and they won the Eredivisie title together last season. The 24-year-old centre-back made 23 starts and one substitute appearance in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
Manchester United will be looking to finish in the Premier League top four next season, and a player of Martinez’s quality would enhance their chances of doing just that.
