Manchester United eyeing Jerome Boateng

Premier League behemoths Manchester United continue their search for defensive reinforcements this summer.

The Red Devils were said to be closing on a deal for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina but the latest information coming from the German media outlet Bild have it that Jose Mourinho has diverted his attention to Jerome Boateng.

The Portuguese tactician is said to be a huge admirer of Boateng’s qualities and is even prepared to throw Anthony Martial in an effort to sweeten the deal.

Karl-Heinz Rummennige has already refused such a package knowing than Bayern Munich have a solid competition in wide areas with Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry.

Manchester United have it until 9th August to finish their transfer dealings and will be forced to shell out £50 million in order to get their hands on the 29-year-old Germany international.

Jerome Boateng boasts Premier League experience knowing he represented Manchester United rivals City in 2010/11.

Jose Mourinho still has Toby Alderweireld as an alternative transfer target.
