The Independent has suggested that Manchester United are hot on the trail of Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed an incredible rise to stardom, having started the current season playing for the reserves and then quickly went on to nail down a regular starting berth in the senior side.
Having scored a couple of wonder goals to go with his excellent midfield showings, Sanches has already caught the eye of several top European clubs.
According to The Independent, Manchester United have emerged as the front-runners for his signature as manager Louis van Gaal believes the youngster has the potential to develop into a world-class footballer.
Few more top clubs are reportedly keen on the player who has a deal until June 2021 and Estadio da Luz, and a €75 million release clause.
Renato Sanches made a total of 11 league appearances this term, scoring 2 goals in the process, while starting another two Champions League fixtures.
