The Daily Star understand that Manchester United are the favourites to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid this summer.
The Croatia international has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu over the past few months with the European Champions set for an overhaul of their squad this summer.
A move to Old Trafford would see Modric reunited with Jose Mourinho – the man who took him to the Spanish capital from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
Since signing for Real, the thirty-two year old has racked up almost two hundred and fifty appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals.
During that time he has helped his side win a number of major honours – most notably the Champions League in three of the past four seasons.
He also has a La Liga championship and a Copa del Rey medal to his name while last year he was named Croatian Player of the Year for the sixth time.
