Manchester United go after Dembele

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are gearing up to make a shock swoop for Ousmane Dembele.

The young winger has opted out of a contract extension with Barcelona, freeing himself up for a move elsewhere in 2022.

He’s known for being a bit of a controversial figure but with United starting to get themselves together, a stint under Ralf Rangnick could be the perfect anecdote for turning him into a world class player once again.

The problem would obviously be competing for a place in the starting XI but given his style of play, we don’t think he’d struggle all too much.

It may seem strange to some that this would go through as soon as the January transfer window, but there always seems to be a big “shock factor” signing when the new year rolls around.

This year, perhaps it’ll be Dembele finally giving the Premier League a go.
