The Express understands that Manchester United have been linked with a move for Paris Saint Germain’s Blaise Matuidi.
Louis van Gaal is on the lookout for a new midfielder, with Sami Khedira also being named as a target though a number of clubs are set to fight for the World Cup winner, who is out of contract in the summer.
Matuidi, who has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, is contracted to the Ligue 1 side until 2018 and is a regular member of their first team having missed just six league games in over the past three seasons.
In total, the 28 year old has made one hundred and eighty-two appearances for PSG, scoring nineteen goals and has won two league titles and the French League Cup.
Internationally, he has been capped thirty-three times for France, scoring four goals – one of which came at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
