Manchester United in shock link to Bournemouth’s Ritchie

Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for Bournemouth midfielder Matt Ritchie, according to the Mail Online.

The Red Devils’ manager Louis van Gaal is keen to add pace to his attack, and has identified Ritchie as one of a number of targets for when the transfer window reopens.

Newcastle Uniteds’ Ayoze Perez, Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane – who was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer – are also being monitored.

Ritchie has been the stand-out performer in a struggling Bournemouth side this season, scoring spectacular goals both for the Cherries and at international level for Scotland.

Since signing from Swindon Town in January 2013, the twenty-six year old has racked up over a hundred appearances for the south-coast club in all competitions, helping them to promotion both from League One in 2013 and from the Championship two years later.
