Manchester United are keeping tabs on Rayo Vallecano midfielder Michu, Daily Mail has revealed.
The highly rated attacking midfielder has been attracting a lot of attention with his performances this season, and he looks set to leave Rayo at the end of the season.
According to Daily Mail, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been alerted of the player’s potential and he is pondering a summer bid for his services.
The Scottish manager sent his brother Martin to check on Michu’s progress as Rayo Vallecano hosted Real Betis in Saturday.
Liverpool are also interested in the 25-year-old, but Daily Mail claims that Manchester United are leading the race at the moment.
The player, who started his professional career at Celta Vigo, has been in scintillating form this season, having scored no less than 13 goals in 26 La Liga games.
Sir Alex Ferguson is also interested in Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy and Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.
